All students should arrive at the Denver International Airport (DIA), located 112km southeast of Fort Collins. Plan to arrive at least one day before your program start date.

After you book your travel plans, submit your flight details online. We need your arrival information in order to pick you up from the airport. This is a free service to our students, but you must submit your flight details one week before you arrive in Colorado.

As an international student, you're required to have a F-1 student visa to study in the US. If you haven't received your visa, we have a checklist for you.

  1. Obtain I-20 Certificate of Eligibility
  2. Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee
  3. Confirm passport expiration date
  4. Provide evidence of financial resources
  5. Schedule your visa interview

We also have some additional resources to help you with this process:

  • You can find a US embassy by visiting this website.
  • Not sure what to bring? Here's a list of documents to take with you to your appointment.
  • If you have any other questions regarding your visa, our PASS (Pre-arrival Support Services) advisors are here to assist. Simply complete this form and a PASS advisor will reach out to you.

Schedule your visa appointment

All students must complete these forms and bring copies to orientation.

If you have not yet confirmed your on-campus housing placement, contact immediately.

Students living on campus will receive a linen pack, including:

  • Bedspread, sheets and pillowcase
  • A pillow
  • A bath towel and hand towel

You may want to bring bath necessities like shower shoes, shampoo and soap with you, or you can purchase them after you arrive. On-campus apartments are furnished, but do not come equipped with kitchen utensils. You will have an opportunity to go shopping during Orientation.

Check out this CSU map to help you find your way around campus.

What to pack on the plane and in your suitcase

In your carry-on luggage, you should bring the following:

Take your online math placement exam

If you are enrolled in an International Year One program, you should complete the online math placement exam before Orientation.

In order to take your test, you must have a CSU eID (electronic identity).  To create yours, click here and choose “Get an eID.”  You’ll need your CSUID number (also known as University ID) which can be found on your confirmation letter.

Once you have created your eID, write down your credentials, save them in a safe place, and bring them with you when you come to campus.  You will use your eID login frequently as a student at INTO CSU.

Use this study guide to prepare for your exam. When you're ready, complete your proctored online exam.
